摘要：In 1995，Rota proposed to study symmetric functions in the framework of Rota–Baxter algebras. In this talk, we introduce the Hopf algebra of weak quasi-symmetric functions and apply the method of renormalization in the spirit of Connes and Kreimer to realize weak quasisymmetric functions as power series. This gives a realization of free commutative Rota-Baxter algebra on one generator by weak quasisymmetric functions and thus addresses Rota's claim.
